knoop.nl spam?
NO! Knooppunt does not send spam regarding viagra or any other 'bed performing enhancers'
Dutch text below.
Knooppunt internetproducties has become the victim of several spamrun's today, with subjects like:
- Impress your wife
- Remember the old days?
- Impotence treatment
- Get it up again
- Want the sex life to be like it used to?
Knooppunt has recieved hunderds of bounce mails, we can only guess the amounts of spam send under our name.
We regret that you may have received spam mail from a knoop.nl adress. But
we did not send it!
If you can help us get the people/person behind this, we will appreciate it very much!
Update 27-06-2005: Bounce mails: 15.000+ (lost count)
Without any response from OpenSRS we only can submit an official complaint with the KLPD (Dutch Police department) and block mail dresses. We are extremely disappointed that there are so little means of fighting this it seams that blocking/spamfiltering is the only option or fighting fire with fire. Neither are very desired options but nothing else seems to remain. We at Knooppunt hope that in the future better legislation and/or better "mail-technology" will arise that will help fighting spammers.

OpenSRS has been contacted yesterday with the request to correct the owner information of the domain names, which seems to be policy.
Omrop Fryslan television will pay attention to the spam-problem in the TV show 'Brekking' this evening 18:00 - 18:30

The Frisian radiostation Omrop Fryslan will interview me at aprox. 7th of june 11:10 (Dutch time) You can listen to the station online.

The Dutch ICT-news site Webwereld has contacted us and written an article about our problem after we released a press-release.
Furthermore, we have contacted OpenSRS and it is illegal to use non-existing owner information, and the can demand that the information must be corrected.

The KLPD (national police department) has been contacted, also the Opta has been contacted. The Opta has prommesed me to look into the mater. Furthermore an official complaint will be worked out.

Update 01-06-2005: Bounce mails: 2200+
Through the Dutch embassy in Latvia we have contacted the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and the Latvian IT association Litta has been contacted. We are now working out the technical details to inform them, so that they can look into the matter.

Today I hope go come in contact with the KLPD (Dutch Police department) and the right person at Dutch embassy in Latvia

The Dutch "digital police" have been notified. Also we have discovered that the spammer originates from Latvia. The Dutch embassy in Latvia has been contacted for assistance...

Knooppunt internetproducties is het slachtoffer geworden van diverse spamruns vandaag, met onderwerpen als:
- Impress your wife
- Remember the old days?
- Impotence treatment
- Get it up again
- Want the sex life to be like it used to?
Knooppunt heeft tientallen 'onbezorgbaar mails' ontvangen, we kunnen slechts raden naar de hoevelheden spam die uit onze naam verstuurd is
Wij betreuren het ten zeerste wanneer u een spam met een knoop.nl adres als afzender heeft ontvangen. Echter
wij hebben ze niet verzonden!
Mocht u ons kunnen helpen met het achterhalen van de verantwoordelijke persoon/personen , stellen wij het ten zeerste op prijs!
Update 27-06-2005: Bounce mails: 15.000+ (lost count)
Zonder enige (re)actie van OpenSRS rest ons slechts officieel aangifte te doen bij de KLPD en het blokkeren van de misbruikte adressen. Wij zijn uitermate teleurgesteld dat er zo weinig te doen is tegen (dergelijke) spamacties. Het lijkt er op dat het het blokkeren van adressen en/of het gebruik van spamfilters of vuur met vuur bestrijden de enige oplossing is. Geen van beide zijn gewenste oplossingen, maar ons rest niets anders dan "lappen". Wij van Knooppunt hopen ten zeerste dat er in de toekomst (Europese) regelgeving komt en/of betere "e-mail technieken" die het spammers onmogelijk zullen gaan maken.

Er is contact gelegd met OpenSRS in Canada, het schijnt beleid te zijn dat eigenaarsinformatie correct behoort te zijn, wij hebben om correctie gevraagd van de informatie.
Omrop Fryslan TV zal aandacht besteden aan "ons" spamprobleem in het programma 'Brekking' vanavond (18:00 - 18:30)

De ICT-nieuwssite Webwereld heeft contact met ons opgenomen en een artikel op hun website geplaatst naar aanleiding van ons persbericht.
verder hebben wij contact opgenomen met het Canadeese bedrijf OpenSRS (die de spamdomeinen in beheer heeft). Het blijkt dat ik kan eisen dat de eigenaars-informatie van de domeinnamen correct behoort te zijn en dat dit gecorrigeerd behoort te worden.

Er is contact opgenomen met de KLPD (landelijk), ook is er contact opgenomen met de Opta. Vooral ook door de enorme hoeveelheid aan bounce-mails heeft de opta toegezegd in de materie te duiken. Tevens wordt er nu een aangifte uitgewerkt.

Via de Nederlandse ambassade in Letland zijn wij in contact gekomen met de Latvian Investment and Development Agency en de Letse IT vereniging Litta. We werken nu de vergaarde technische informatie uit om hen te informeren zodat het onderzocht kan worden.

Bij de "digitale recherge" is aangifte gedaan. Tevens hebben we ontdekt dat de spammer uit Letland komt. Met de Nederlandse ambassade in Letland is inmiddels contact opgenomen..
